*What does ACX-ready actually mean?
ACX (Amazon's Audiobook Creation Exchange) has strict technical requirements for file format, loudness, peak levels, noise floor and metadata structure. Even small issues can lead to rejection and delay publication.
Audibound processes and corrects your files before you upload — so you meet those requirements every time, without having to understand the technical details yourself.
The same technical standards are used by every major audiobook platform. Files you produce with Audibound are ready to publish on Audible, Apple Books, Spotify, Findaway Voices, Author's Republic, Kobo, Google Play Audio, and more.

†What does DRM-free mean for you?
DRM (Digital Rights Management) is code attached to an audiobook that prevents it from being played anywhere except a specific app (like Audible). It locks listeners in and locks you out of direct sales.
Audibound produces DRM-free, universally playable M4B files. You own your files completely. That means no platform lock-in, no restrictions on where your audiobook can be played, and no middleman between you and your listeners.
This means you can sell your audiobooks directly to your fans via Shopify, Kickstarter, Bookfunnel, or your own website, letting you keep 100% of the royalties instead of settling for platform splits.
‡Bring Your Own Mic (BYOM)
Some audiobooks are produced by studios. Yours doesn't have to be.
With Audibound Converter/Binder, your recordings go straight into a production pipeline that validates, packages, and delivers -- no third-party studio, no outsourced quality check, no waiting. You control the timeline, the output, and the rights.
If you can record it, Audibound can finish it.
BYOM applies to Converter/Binder. Audibound Studio uses its own voices, so no mic required.
